Goodbye :(

The semester is over and our magazine is done. We are now leaving E-zine. I am sad because the process is over but excited because a new experience is beginning. I can now say that I have made a magazine. It was stressful, amusing, and awesome. I think in the future I will be better at design. This has made me appreciate the hard work that people who work with magazines and editors go through to present us with them. To think they do this once a month is AMAZING. Our class had a hard time doing this in five months. I am glad that we did this though. So goodbye for the last time.

15 acre project...

Austin is taking on a huge project. 15 acres of land at the Johnson’s Backyard Garden are being used to create an abstract pattern that is based on the number 350. This is the number of carbon molecules that should be in the atmosphere is it weren’t for global warming. It is actually based on the name of an environmental group called 350 Earth. The farm usually grows 60 different types of vegetables year round, but this farm is not your run of the mill backyard. The pattern created will not be visible for people looking on ground, but for those in the air. Since the Johnson’s Backyard Garden is five miles east of the city, it will be visible for people flying out of the airport. It is going to be quite a sight to be able to see such a colossal piece of art so far up and away from the ground.
The purpose of the art project is not only to call attention to the danger of global warming, but also to encourage people to start supporting local farms and eating local. This immense project is another perfect example of how Austin is being kept weird and supporting local businesses, as well as showing how the city cares about planet Earth.

Goodbye

Four months. Four months is all it took for my ezine class to become my second family, and to create a magazine with only three other people. When I walked into this class on the first day of school, I only knew six other people, just six. Now, I know all of them, and although I’m not as close with some as I am others, I probably wouldn’t know so much about them if wasn’t for this class. If it wasn’t for my seventh/eighth period ezine class I would have never become a better writer, never have made several close friends, never discovered my savior, google docs, and never would get to walk out of that very same class knowing that a learned a million things, and that I created a whole magazine in such a short period of time. Although, I’ll miss the class, leaving won’t take away from the experience, and fortunately I won’t have to say goodbye to anyone as I’ll see them all next semester in Sci-Tech (whether or not I’m looking forward to that is unknown...). However, I would just like to thank my ezine group for making this class so easy and enjoyable. Love you Stephanie, Cam, and Tempra! :)
Goodbye,
Marbles:)

A GREAT FAREWELL

Yes guys it is true. Although I've enjoyed this semester so much, and have loved making this magazine, I think I'm ready to move on. Although I will miss everything about ezine. Our magazine has turned out so great and innovative, honestly I love everything about it. The whole class as a whole was great, I made some awesome friends and I  really liked designing the many designs that we made. I think this class has encouraged me to keep on designing and to think in more creative ways. I think that this class has also helped my writing skills as a whole and has even made me a more organized person (if that's possible). Anyway To keep from ranting on and on, I just really want to say that I've really enjoyed making the magazine that we made and that I really hope that somewhere in the future I end up doing something with design in my career. I think that the public will like our magazine, at least I hope so.... and that they enjoy reading it as much as we enjoyed making it.

PEACE!!!
